Andi has had a life long love of arts in

all forms.  Growing up on the East Coast

in a family of artists and designers, she

is a Royal Academy of Dance trained

dancer, performing throughout New

England, and was featured with her

dance troupe in multiple appearances in

Eastern Europe. At 16, Andi was awarded

a grant from the Arts District in her

hometown to choreograph a performance

arts piece in collaboration with a young 

musician, and her uncle who was a

marvelous sculptor. She has also worked in

the visual arts as a painter and photographer.

 

Andi’s love of ceramics and pottery began early, influenced and encouraged by her mother, an interior designer, weaver and gardener. Andi began throwing pots in the 8th grade, and enhanced her craft while studying dance at Sarah Lawrence College, taking courses in ceramic arts in between dance classes.  Andi refocused on ceramics in 2006 when she joined Xiem Clay Center in Pasadena, and has not looked back since. In 2017 she set up her Boogaloo Pottery home studio. Her work strives to encapsulate all her loves while keeping things simple and accessible. She loves the utility, the beauty, and the process of making ceramic art. Andi is also an avid and enthusiastic gardener, and lover of all animals and nature.
